The FVT-1100-HDMI transmitter, along with the FVR-1100-HDMI receiver, create an affordable HDMI / DVI fiber link that allow for bi-directional pass-through of both HDCP and EDID information. Uncompressed HDMI video and up to 1920×1200 WUXGA resolutions are supported to ranges up to 1000 meters on quality multimode fiber. Pixel level image transport with zero frame dropping and 24-bit scan rate happens with no contouring or bit reduction.
Because both HDCP and EDID are handled normally when source and display are linked via a FVT-1100-HDMI pair, the content protection and resolution information are available through routing devices that allow transport between the transmitter and receiver pair. This is important when moving copyright protected content to monitors of varying resolutions.
For DVI-D sources, the FVT-1100-HDMI use a hybrid cable adapter, and HDCP and EDID information still remains. USB power ports are found on transmitter and receiver units, making it possible to be free of the included standard power supplies.
